you're the only ten-i-see

sooo way back at the end of june and beginning of this month {now that july is more than half over- wwwhat?!} Jon and I stuffed my car with all our ottawa belongings and head west and south!  it was so very sad to leave a city we both fell madly in love with but we were both excited for the events that awaited us....

first stop: toronto temple
it is a beautiful temple inside and out. had we decided to get married somewhere closer i think this would have been it- but there really is no comparison to laie.

a celestial sky leaving the temple

after driving late into the night and hopping the border we made it safe and sound to detroit. phew.  we spent the next day with nate and anna and their four lovely girls.  i enjoyed my time shopping with anna at the somerset mall thoroughly!  we tried to get to bed as early as we could to catch our 6 am flight to georgia the next morning.
traffic crossing the border at 1am
by 8:30am we had arrived in atlanta all ready to reunite with the fowler side of the family and share in the baptism of jon's niece, bridgette.  after the baptism our only jobs were to relax, enjoy family, and eat as much blue bell dutch chocolate ice cream as possible.

blue bell for breakfast- yes please!
the rest of our week was to continue with the same rules as above- relax, family, ice cream.  the fowler clan packed up, said good-bye to georgia, and headed to fairfield glade, tennessee.  what is in tennessee you ask?  what's not there?!  we all enjoyed a variety of activities each day, in fact so much so that i was too busy to take any photos.  just to recap for you though, we went running, played tennis {which i've never done before, and fell in love!}, beachin it {at the man made lakes...}, laying out pool side, family meals for breakfast and lunch- delish, went out to the stables so bridgette could have a ride on her most favorite creature, played video games, put a puzzle together by the light of the fire place {power went out one evening during a storm}, went to a farmers market, took a bath in the biggest bathtub i've ever seen {fyi-no other fowlers were involved}, card games, made s'mores, and ate more blue bell ice cream.  and of course as the week came to an end it was still not enough time to do all the things we had anticipated doing.
a big thanks to my father-inlaw, stu for getting us all together to enjoy a wonderful vacation together!!!
jon and i had breakfast duty on the 4th of july

the biggest bathtub. ever.

on our way home

and our vacation doesn't end there...  but that will be for another post.
